Beim ersten TÜV zeigte mir der Werkstattmeister Korrosion am unteren Teil der A- und B-Säule. Da ich nicht direkt an der GFK-Karosse schweißen wollte, entschied ich mich die Karosse zu demontieren und das Chassis aufzuarbeiten. Nachdem alles ab war habe ich es mit Trockeneis reinigen lassen (Vorteil es ist nicht so abrasiv wie Sandstrahlen und der Stahl rostet nicht sofort). Und wenn schon mal alles ab ist habe ich auch sämtliche Leitungen und Kabel erneuert.
Zur Hohlraumkonservierung (JMC von Matthies mit 50 cm Schlauch und Düse) habe ich in die beiden Kastenprofile am hinteren Radkasten jeweils eine 6mm Bohrung angebracht, die A-Säule kann man unter dem Armaturenbrett erreichen und die B-Säule ganz einfach durch die Einsteckhülsen des Verdecks.

!! Vorsicht bei der Demontage der Vorderachse mit Motor und Hilfsrahmen, die Spannung in der ganzen Konstruktion kann euch ein schöne Beule in die Ölwanne bringen!!
At the first MOT, the workshop foreman showed me corrosion on the lower part of the A and B pillars. As I didn’t want to weld directly on the GRP body, I decided to dismantle the body and refurbish the chassis. Once everything was off, I had it cleaned with dry ice (the advantage is that it’s not as abrasive as sandblasting and the steel doesn’t rust immediately). And once everything was off, I also renewed all the pipes and cables.
For cavity preservation (JMC from Matthies with 50 cm hose and nozzle), I drilled a 6 mm hole in each of the two box profiles on the rear wheel arch, the A-pillar can be reached under the dashboard and the B-pillar can be easily reached through the insertion sleeves of the soft top.

!! Be careful when dismantling the front axle with engine and subframe, the tension in the whole construction can cause a nice dent in the oil pan!!
